Mid week, fire-side dinner date. Candle-lit with the finest 5 year old for company and the freshest Adams Ale. Fred choose the conversation (predominantly centred on how to make a book with rock pockets). I chose the playlist (because I am no fool).
If I use no words to describe nature. If I go outside and sit down beside the bright orbs that are emerging from the spring soil. If I don’t tell myself it’s a “flower” - just imagine that I’ve no language for it at all. If I strip away all the words that allow me to categorise and rationalise and sort. Then I get to sit in it’s presence - in witness to the incredible abundance and beauty of this mighty and generous planet. Then I get to revel in the magic of this cosmic wonder. I highly recommend it. Sit down beside a bright orb this spring - and without language - spend some time truly soaking up that which you see. It’s something else. PS. I do realise, my hippy levels are reaching new heights with this post.... In the winter, I was listening to my worms, now in the spring, I’m sitting with my tulips. Sit tight for Sarah’s summer hippy tips! (or send an intervention 😂). PPS. Thanks @eckharttolle and @supersoul for teaching me this piece of powerful presence making.
Hello garden, my old friend. I’m yet to find a mental burr that is not eased by some hours in the soil. This spring afternoon was delicious.
