I could listen to the sound of mud boiling all day long. Nature’s giant porridge pot.

Another day - another geothermal pool.

First jog of many as I start training for a half marathon! I was slow and puffy and happily interrupted by the endless beauty of Lake Rotorua this morning.

Took a trip back in time at the Blue Baths today - Art Deco geothermal pool magic made even cooler by the fact we were the only ones there. We hopped out as prunes. What a national treasure.

The sun is rising like it should be setting. So beautiful that it got me out of my warm bed and down to the lake. Happy Sunday everyone!

We visited my Dad today. He said almost nothing and then declared unexpectedly and rather sharply that he’d like to go to Panmure. He used to live there - long before us kids were born, and even further before his grandson kissed his suddenly sleeping head. He’s lost all sense of the linear and saw nothing strange in his request. He lived there - ,when he was young and vital and full of promise. And I can understand why he wants to go back. Lifelines lie so tangled in the end.
